Maxime has been a
CANN member since 2013 and has been occupying board positions since 2014. He was councillor for the Quebec chapter from 2014 until 2019. He currently is the
Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer and the 2024 Conference Co-chair for CANN National. He was also Program Chair for the 2019 conference.
Maxime worked as a bedside nurse in neurosurgery and neurology from 2008 until 2013 at the
Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (The Neuro). From 2013 through 2017 he was assistant nurse manager on a neurosurgery unit that was converted to a tertiary care acute stroke unit.
From 2017 until 2022 he managed the
Clinical Research Unit (CRU), a self-financed clinical trials department, at The Neuro and part of the
Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. The CRU runs 100+ active trials across neurosciences for various adult patient populations.
Maxime taught five cohorts of last year undergraduate nursing students from his Alma mater,
Université de Montréal, from 2015 until 2019 and the first cohort of Mental Health Nurse Practitioners of
McGill University in 2019.
Since 2022, he has been working as assistant syndic at the
Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (the province’s nursing accrediting body), performing investigations aimed at protecting the public from nursing professional misconduct.
He also worked for 10 years in occupational health and safety, disability management, and prehospital emergency care at
Casino de Montréal. He participated in the province-wide vaccination efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and more recently has been working as a consultant for private healthcare industry clients.
Maxime holds a professional technical diploma in nursing from
Cégep du Vieux Montréal, a B.Sc. in nursing from
Université de Montréal and a M.Sc. in nursing (leadership) from
York University in Toronto. He obtained his
neuroscience nursing certification from the CNA (CNN(C)) in 2013. He currently studies toward a
professional certificate in investigation and intelligence at Université de Montréal. Outside of healthcare, Maxime enjoys volunteering on a number of
boards of directors related to condo and real estate management and
classical music.
